I'm really rather happy with how this one came out, even if the panels are a bit crooked because of the scanner and even if I do have lame-o stick Shadow Riders in the second panel rounding up lame-o stick animals. ^_^;; I impressed myself with the scenery shot in the first panel. I didn't think it would look that good. ::beams::
And in case you don't recognize him, in the last panel is the Shadow Rider from the previous Shadow Rider scene (page 4 of chapter 1), the one who was burning the village. And in case you didn't notice, Issar (the one in the all-black mask with the white feathers/fur) isn't letting his men burn the village they're raiding. Those long things hanging from Issar's shoulders are cloth streamer-thingies. They're to make him look more impressive and scary when he's riding at the head of his men. That's why their masks look like demons and monsters, too. It's a scare tactic.
I translated two of the terms the Shadow Riders use, "hadi" and "tari," at the bottom of the page. They're titles, like "lord" or "master," so I want to keep the Shadow Rider words. The little < and > brackets around their dialogue also mean that they're speaking the Shadow Rider tongue. This will be important later on, marking when someone is speaking something other than the Common Tongue that pretty much everyone knows.
Yay for pretty establishing shots and my favorite character.
